XTX Markets Hires New Head of Sales for Asia

Electronic market-maker XTX Markets has appointed Chan Wai Kin as its new head of sales for Asia

Kin was previously head of FICC ecommerce (APAC) at Morgan Stanley.

Prior to that, he led the eFX sales team within the APAC (ex-Japan) region at Deutsche Bank, the company says.

“With the opening of our Singapore office we have the ideal person, with a solid industry knowledge, to lead our continued growth in Asia,” comments Jeremy Smart, global head of sales at XTX Markets.

Kin’s hire continues a period of significant personnel growth for XTX Markets. In February the firm hired Jigar Patel from Goldman Sachs to lead its e-commodities business and in January it announced that former Standard Chartered executive, Chris Knight, would be helping its e-FX sales push in APAC, while Matt Clarke and Moez Ghanmi joined from Barclays.

In September 2015, Zar Amrolia, former co-head of FICC at Deutsche Bank, joined the firm as co-CEO, while in December 2015, Smart left his role as managing director, head of fixed income electronic distribution at RBS, to join XTX Markets.
