XTX Markets is adding further to its roster
of talent with the hire of Jigar Patel, who will join the company as part of its
business development team, heading up the e-commodities business.
Patel will join in May
and moves from Goldman Sachs where he led the global e-commodities team and
successfully built out the commodities electronic trading business from
conception.
Prior to this he was a
commodity trader at Crédit Agricole.
Patel’s hire is the
latest in a string of high profile professional to join the market making firm.
In December it was revealed that Jeremy
Smart is joining from Royal Bank of Scotland to head up XTX’s sales team,
and earlier this year XTX hired Matt Clarke and Moez Ghanmi from
Barclays in a sales and trading role respectively.
XTX has also recently acquired
the services of Chris
Knight to head up the firm’s growing business in Asia Pacific.
XTX, which is a spin
off from GSA Capital, made
headlines last year when Zar Amrolia, former co-head of Deutsche’s FICC
business, joined the firm as co-CEO.
