Jonathan Wykes has left trading platform provider Lava FX to join Credit Suisse as a director with responsibility for spearheading sales for the bank’s AES (Advanced Execution Services) for FX products.
AES is Credit Suisse’s suite of algorithmic trading strategies, tools and analytics. It was originally designed for equities trading but was extended to other asset classes including FX and futures this year. The suite helps more than a thousand institutions and hedge funds reduce market impact, improve performance versus benchmarks and add consistency to their trading processes, the bank says.
Wykes will start at the bank in London in mid-March, a spokesperson confirms, and will report jointly to Richard Balarkas, managing director and head of AES sales and Ian Green, managing director and global head of derivatives IT, who are both based in London.
He joins the bank after spending just a year at Lava FX where he held a senior sales position. He was previously European head of FX sales at Cantor Fitzgerald’s e-Speed subsidiary in London and before that was vice president of e-FX institutional sales at Dresdner Kleinwort.
