Dr Petra Wikstrom has joined Capitolis as business development executive for the buy-side in the Americas. She will report to Ben Tobin, global head of sales at the firm and be based in New York.

Wikstrom has been working for Greenwich Associates as a consultant for just over a year having left BNP Paribas in October 2018, where she was global head of execution and alpha solutions in the bank’s FX, local markets and commodities business.

Wikstrom joined BNP in 2014 after a four year spell at Morgan Stanley, where she was head of the bank’s QSI team in North America, prior to which she spent almost seven years at RBS, first in London and then more latterly in New York as global head of quant solutions. She also had a previous spell with BNP, having started as a quant analyst at Svenska Handelsbanken in Stockholm.

“I’m pleased to welcome Petra to the Capitolis team,” says Gil Mandelzis, CEO and founder of Capitolis. “With her deep industry expertise across asset classes and track record of success in trade execution analytics and sales, she will be instrumental in expanding our buy side sales efforts and will play a key role in enhancing Capitolis’ relationships with the hedge fund and asset management communities.”

Wikstrom adds, “Capitolis’ innovative technology is revolutionising how banks, asset managers and hedge funds utilise their balance sheets. I look forward to contributing
