New York-based Jason Vitale has been promoted to global head of FX at BNY Mellon, a spokesperson confirms. Vitale most recently served as the bank’s COO of FX markets and global head of client execution services.
Vitale joined BNY in March 2017 from Deutsche Bank, where he’d spent 15 years, last as co-head of listed derivatives and markets clearing, and global head of FX prime brokerage.
He serves as a member of the Board of CLS, as well as Secretary and Board member of the Foreign Exchange Professionals Association (FXPA).
BNY Mellon made changes to its Markets Group following the departure of Michelle Neal, CEO of the group, in March. Adam Vos, who was global head of FX at the time, was given the additional responsibility for fixed income and equities, and is now head of BNY Mellon Markets. Vitale will continue reporting into Vos. A successor to the COO role has yet to be named.
