Industry sources tell Profit & Loss that two FX specialists have left IHS Markit. FX market veteran and director in the customer solutions business, Sue Attwood, is believed to have left, as have David Mallinder, director, FX sales at the firm.
Attwood’s departure ends an 11-year career at the firm which started when she joined forerunner Logicscope at the start of 2009. She became director of customer solutions in the MarkitServ business following Markit’s acquisition of Logicscope – the combined business was then merged with IHS in 2016. During that time, Attwood also made history by becoming the first female president of ACI UK – the Uk chapter of ACI – The Financial Markets Association.
Prior to joining Logicscope, Attwood worked at CME/Reuters joint venture FXMarketSpace, however she is best known for a 23-year career at the Bank of England which ended as deputy chief dealer of the central bank.
Mallinder meanwhile, is also understood to have left, having joined DealHub, which was absorbed into Markit in 2015, in 2010. At DealHub, he was head of e-FX business development, having joined the firm from an almost nine year career at Eurobase Banking Solutions, where he was business development director.
Both Attwood and Mallinder are believed to be exploring new opportunities in the industry.
