Trading Technologies International (TT) has opened a new sales office in Singapore headed by Robbie McDonnell, vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific sales.
The office will focus on selling TT’s X_Trader electronic trading software and TTNET, which provides connections to the world’s top futures exchanges, to banks, hedge funds, proprietary trading firms and other customers.
The Chicago-headquartered company now operates four offices in the Asia Pacific region. The other operations are in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney with the Singapore office serving as the company’s Asia Pacific headquarters.
McDonnell is relocating from Hong Kong, where he managed the opening of TT’s office there in March. The company says it expects 5-10 people to start initially in the Singapore office, with plans to expand this number to 15-20 over the next year. In total 25 people work in the four Asia Pacific offices.
"The opening of this office supports our strategy to expand TT’s presence in Asia. We are seeing strong demand for TT’s trading software in the Singapore market, and the presence of a local team will allow us to best serve our growing customer base there," says Tim Geannopulos, executive vice president of global sales.
