The Cürex Group has promoted Franz Schmidpeter to senior managing director and head of global business development.
Since joining Cürex in 2014, Schmidpeter has led the development of Cürex’s pre- and post-trade data analytics platform and managed significant client relationships.
Commenting on the promotion, Jamie Singleton, Cürex chairman and CEO, says: “Franz has been instrumental in developing Cürex’s web-based analytics tools that provide our customers with pre-trade market intelligence and real-time, post-trade analytics to improve their trading outcomes and prove best execution compliance. Cürex Group has hired Glen Sargeant as managing director, European business development.
Based in London, Sargeant will be responsible for the development of customer relationships throughout the UK and Europe.
Sargeant has 25 years of experience in global FX markets. As the former head of FX trading, EMEA, at Schroder Investment Management, he managed a large trading book comprised of major and emerging market currencies. In that capacity, he was also responsible for optimising FX trading processes through technology implementations while managing costs. Sargeant also served as product manager, buy side FX, at FlexTrade.
Cürex Group has appointed Claudio Pannunzio as managing director, marketing, to lead the firm’s global brand and marketing strategy efforts.
Pannunzio will be tasked with steering Cürex’s global marketing functions, which encompass responsibilities ranging from the execution of the company’s brand strategy to its product marketing efforts, corporate communications, and digital marketing efforts.
He reports directly to Jamie Singleton, group chairman and CEO. Pannunzio has 20 years of FX markets experience and a 15-year track record in strategic marketing communication.
Cürex Group is introducing microsecond timestamp confirmations for its clients’ trading activity.
In a release issued today, the firm says that the rollout underscores the firm’s mission to support the best execution standards required under Mifid II, which will take effect in January 2018.
In addition to these timestamp confirmations, the post-trade analytics allow its customers to “walk the book” backward and forward by the microsecond to study the market before execution and after to try and gain deeper insight into their trading impact.
Kevin Cudahy joins Cürex Group in New York as a managing director, business development. He reports directly to Jamie Singleton, chairman and CEO.
A 25-year FX industry veteran, Cudahy was most recently head of FX sales, North America, at Bloomberg Tradebook, which shuttered its FX group in January. Cudahy joined Tradebook in mid-2013. Prior to that, Cudahy spent more than 10 years at BNP Paribas, where he worked on the FX sales desk. He also spent a period at CCM Securities.
Justin Brill has joined the Cürex Group as managing director responsible for business development.
Brill has spent the last 12 years at Morgan Stanley where most recently he was executive director for listed derivatives and OTC clearing. Prior to that, he was global head of FX and metals prime brokerage.

Michael Williams has left Curex, where he was president and vice chairman. He is understood to be establishing a consultancy firm in the fixed income and FX space.
Williams joined Curex in January 2010 from Hotspot, where he was senior managing director of Knight Capital and head of the Hotspot platform business. He joined the firm in late 2006 from HSBC where he was responsible for the New York trading and sales business.
A veteran of the industry, before HSBC Williams also held roles at Cantor Fitzgerald, Intercontinental Exchange Partners and Bierbaum – the latter being a business he established in New York in 1978.
Andy Corcoran has been named a managing director of business development at execution and data analytics firm Cürex Group.
A 20 years FX markets veteran, Corcoran has been involved throughout his career in all aspects of FX trading and client support on the sell-side. Prior to joining Cürex, he worked for 17 years at UBS where he most recently served as executive director of FX e-sales for the Americas.
His FX client management experience also encompasses prime brokerage services, trade processing and client fulfillment. Corcoran began his career at Merrill Lynch.
