Javelin Capital Markets, an electronic trading venue for interest rate swaps and credit derivatives, has appointed Chris Koppenheffer and Mike Hisler as its IRS and CDS heads respectively.
Koppenheffer most recently worked at Mizuho Capital Markets where he was responsible for all US dollar interest rate derivatives sales and trading. Prior to Mizuho, he was a senior managing director at Bear Stearns where he traded interest rate swaps for several years. He began his career in interest rate derivatives at Chemical Bank and later joined Natwest where he spent over ten years building its interest rate derivatives trading effort.
Hisler most recently launched Hexagon, a boutique investment bank. Previously he worked at UBS for 10 years, where he was a managing director of institutional credit sales. Prior to UBS he worked in fixed income sales at Chase and began his career at Salomon Brothers. Hisler is also co founder of industry trade group, the Swaps & Derivatives Market Association.
“Chris and Mike are key hires for Javelin,” says James Cawley, CEO of Javelin Capital Markets, a New York-based company that was formed last year and plans to register as a swap execution facility this year. “As the derivative markets embrace change, having these product specialists lead Javelin’s IRS and CDS vertical deployments is a great advantage.”
