Market sources tell Squawkbox of a senior departure from Knight Capital’s FX ECN Hotspot FX. The sources say that Zoran Mavrinac, managing director for Hotspot’s bank relationships is leaving the firm next month. He is said to be joining FX technology provider Curex in New York.
A source familiar with the situation says Mavrinac is working through a transition period with the Hotspot management team who will continue with the management of bank relationships and Mavrinac’s responsibilities with his team. A spokesperson for Hotspot FX declined to comment on personnel matters.
Mavrinac has been a long term employee of Hotspot FX. Before moving into the ECN space, he worked at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Chase Manhattan Bank, West LB and Credit Suisse.
