Philippe Savoy has joined fintech platform Ebury Partners as head of Canada, based in Toronto. London-based Ebury provides global transaction banking through FX risk management, international payments, trade finance and currency accounts.
Savoy spent nearly 24 years at RBC Capital Markets, last serving as managing director and head of FX sales for the Americas. Piror to that, he was RBC’s global head of FX electronic distribution and commercial FX sales for Canada and UK.
Ebury was co-founded by Juan Lobato and Savador Garcia, who are co-CEOs of the firm. Lobato is also a venture partner with 83North. Before Ebury, Lobato was CEO of Beam.tv (a digital distribution network), and CEO of BaseKit (a European web building platform). He was also a consultant with McKinsey & Co in London. Garcia began his career as a proprietary trader and has worked at investment banks and hedge funds across Europe, including ABN Amro, Rabobank and Vega Capital, where he held senior positions on the FX and interest rate derivatives proprietary trading desks.
