RBS Makes Further Post-Merger Appointments

The Royal Bank of Scotland has made further appointments to its Financial Markets division.

Stephan Harris, RBS’s deputy treasurer in London, has appointed Howard Kurz as head of RBS Financial Markets North America, responsible for trading, sales and other financial markets activities in the region. Reporting to him will be Pablo Eizayaga, who will have responsibility for global emerging markets. In Asia-Pacific, Anthony Yuen becomes the Asia treasurer, responsible for all FX and FX/equity derivative trading, as well as other products and regional responsibilities. Also in the Asia-Pacific region, Will Lawton, previously treasurer of RBS North America, will take the role of treasurer and head of RBS Financial Markets in Singapore, which includes all trading and sales.

In London, Luke Ding becomes the head of currency and equity derivatives, responsible for global trading, product development and structuring. Dave White takes up the role of regional head of FX for the UK and Europe. Jim Kerr will be head of FX trading in Scotland, and will continue to be responsible for the group’s Edinburgh trading it covering FX, money markets and interest rate trading. Cian McHugh will be responsible for business management and will lead the integration of the global FX and FX derivative businesses.

Meanwhile, Peter Nielsen, global head of sales and marketing at RBS FM, has also made a series of appointments to the global sales and distribution team. Graham Broyd will head FX and interest rate derivative (IRD) sales for UK corporates and institutions. Nigel Bennett will head sales for Europe covering FX and IRD; Robert Edgely will head sales for Asia-Pacific covering fixed income, derivatives and FX; and Garry Popofsky will head FX and IRD sales for North America. Tom Roche, who established RBS’s Agency Treasury Services (ATS) business, will head the combined unit. John Retter is the new head of margin trading, while Ram Bhagavatula is global head of research.

Under UK sales head Broyd, the following appointments have also been made: Chris Stuart will be responsible for large corporate FX sales; Chris Webster will be responsible for IRD sales to the large corporate client base; Keith Bailey and Iain Boot will be jointly responsible for the FX and IRD UK corporate and commercial business segments; and Robert Godber will manage the UK fund manager FX and IRD sales team.
