Jonathan Webb has joined the Royal Bank of Scotland in London as a senior proprietary trader, the bank confirms. He reports to Andy Baxter, head of proprietary trading in London, who in turn reports to Peter Westring Nielsen, global head of foreign exchange, currency options, emerging markets, equities and futures.

Webb has spent the last two years running his own currency fund, prior to which he has held trading roles with Credit Suisse First Boston, which he joined in spring 2000 (see Profit & Loss, May 2000), HSBC, and Bank of America.

According to the bank, the proprietary desk trades cash, options, non-deliverable futures, interest rate futures, bond futures and equity indexes.
