The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has appointed Kenneth Kan and Chris Dunning to its emerging markets trading teams in Asia and North America.
Kan will be head of Asian emerging markets, based in Hong Kong. He joins from Standard Chartered in Singapore, where he was the global head of NDF trading for seven years. He will report globally to Derek Murphy, global head of emerging markets and locally to Lawrence Lam, manager of Hong Kong branch and head of CBFM, Greater China and Korea.
Dunning will be head of emerging markets FX and options. He also joins RBS from Standard Chartered, this time in New York. He spent three and a half years at Stanchart where he was responsible for its Latin American FX business. He previously held a similar role at CSFB for six and a half years. He will be based in Greenwich, reporting jointly to Peter Rading, head of currency options and Murphy.
"These hires have enabled us to raise our aspirations for the business in Asia and North America," says Murphy. "We are very serious about growing our emerging markets business globally and we want to be seen as the best bank to do business with both for international and top domestic clients."
