Futures commission merchant Peregrine Financial Group (PFG) has made Jonathan Siegel senior vice president and head of the New York office which it opened on March 1. Along with Siegel’s hire, PFG has hired a five-strong team from Royal Bank of Canada to execute in the interbank market.
The new presence is intended to expand the company’s FX and fund management capabilities, officials say.
Siegel joins from Northfield Trading, a Denver-based money manager, prior to which he founded the alternative asset consulting and marketing group at ING Barings Furman Selz in 1998. Before this, he was president and CEO of Tricon Advisory Services, which was acquired by Daiwa Securities America.
The team from RBC includes Emilio DeBeuriis, Eileen Tombasco, Charles Sciametta, Richard Schack and Christopher Romano, who have spent seven years operating as a team, the company says.
“PFG will strategically expand from executing interbank foreign exchange to executing for institutions in the futures markets,” says Neil Aslin, president of PFG and president of its global funds division.
