Widmer Out at Citi

Bruno Widmer has left Citi in London where he was head of bank sales, a Citi spokesperson confirms. His replacement will be named shortly, the spokesperson says.

Widmer joined Citi in 2008, bringing with him members of his team from UBS where he was global head of FX banks marketing.

Citi Appoints Perret-Green to Head Asia Ex-Japan Strategy

Citi. has appointed Patrick Perret-Green to a newly-created role as head of foreign exchange and local markets strategy for Asia-excluding Japan.

Perret-Green will transfer to Singapore for his new position from Citi Europe Markets division in London where he was responsible for a strategic trading book.

Prior to joining Citi in 2007, Perret-Green was chief strategist at Mizuho Capital Markets London. He was also previously a European government bond trader at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan.

Lloyds TSB Appoints Yates as Economist

Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets has appointed Sara Yates as sector economist, a newly created position.

Yates will be a member of the team which is responsible for producing research reports on the UK’s economic sectors. She reports to Hann-Ju Ho, senior sector economist.

Yates previously worked at UBS where she focused on strategic and tactical asset allocations including currency management. She also worked for the UK’s Department for International Development and HM Treasury.

BAML Hires AP Strategy Head

BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research has hired Adarsh Sinha as head of Asia Pacific G10 FX strategy.

Sinha is based in Hong Kong and reports to David Woo, BAML’s recently appointed head of global rates and currencies research (Squawkbox June 21, 2010).

In this role, Sinha is responsible for calls on the AUD, NZD and JPY. Additionally, he will lead the G10 FX research marketing effort in the Asia Pacific region, working closely with his colleagues across the regions.

Sinha joins from Barclays Capital in London where he was a senior FX strategist responsible for G10 currencies, a role in which he also reported to Woo.

“Adarsh is a tremendous asset to our team,” says Woo. “I am confident that with his understanding and experience, our clients will receive the highest quality foreign exchange analysis and trading ideas in the marketplace.”
