Portware has hired Christopher Sorenson as an FX project
manager in New York.
Prior to joining Portware, Sorenson had been working as a
consultant in Boston, following his departure from FX Connect in March 2015.
Sorenson spent more than nine years at FX Connect, working
as its global head of strategic alliances and technical account management. In
this role he managed the firms’ global alliance program and global
Before FX Connect, Sorenson spent five years as a vice
president, client implementation and technical account management, at State
Street. In this role he was responsible for developing and implementing front
and middle office integrated order management solutions.
Sorenson also spent three years working as a fixed income
trading systems analyst at BNY Mellon.
FreemarketFX Names Ricci as Chair
The former head of
Barclays’ investment bank, Rich Ricci, has been named as chairman of
FreemarketFX, a peer-to-peer trading venue.
The exchange was
established at the start of 2014 by former MF Global, Deutsche Bank and Credit
Suisse First Boston executive, Alex Hunn.
Gilmore Exits Wedbush to Start New Consultancy
Carl Gilmore has left
his position as senior vice president and co-head of futures at Wedbush Futures
to start Integritas Financial Consulting, where he will act as president of the
Gilmore was a managing
director and head of futures at KGC Futures in Chicago before it was sold to
Wedbush Futures in December 2014. He continued with Wedbush Futures for one
year, before leaving the firm at the end of 2015.
Consulting aims to deliver advice on regulatory compliance, ways to improve
business processes and help in managing specific projects and iniatiatives.

Knight in 2012, Gilmore as a global enterprise risk manager at Penson
Worldwide, a general counsel at Goldenberg Hehmeyer & Co. and the chief
compliance and risk officer at First American Discount Corporation.
