McInerney Heading to BTMU?
Patrick McInerney is joining Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi’s spot desk in New York, according to market sources. He was previously a director in the fixed income, currencies and commodities (FICC) division at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
McInerney joined BAML in New York in 2011 from Standard Charterted where he was director, head of deliverable spot trading, Americas. Prior to this he was chief dealer, foreign exchange at Svenska Handelsbanken. A spokesperson for BTMU declined to comment.
StanChart Appoints Head of FX Intermediation Service
Daren Hill has joined Standard Chartered’s execution, clearing, liquidity and portfolio services (Eclipse) team as head of FX intermediation services in London.
Reporting jointly to Andrew Sterry and Luke Brereton, co-heads of Eclipse, Hill is responsible for the management and build of FX intermediation and clearing services within the Eclipse platform.
Hill has previously worked at Citi where he was most recently chief operating officer (COO) and global head of client services of FX prime brokerage.
Standard Chartered Eclipse is a client-focussed unit within the bank’s financial markets business providing a range of services including access to liquidity hubs, client clearing and portfolio services in the derivatives market.
Barth Named as Barclays FX Research Head for Europe
Barclays has appointed former US Treasury official, Marvin Barth, as its new London-based European head of FX research.
He will report to Jose Wynne, global head of FX research, in New York.
Barth joins the team from his role as chief investment strategist with Tennenbaum Capital Partners, having previously served as the chief economist for international affairs and director of research and risk analysis with the US Treasury for two years.
His previous roles have also included global currency economist for Citi and as a visiting scholar at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel on behalf of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
