Lazarus Joins CIBC

Ben Lazarus has joined the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in London as an associate in the financial solutions group.

In the new role he will be focused on foreign exchange sales and will report to Quentin Smith, executive director of the group.

Lazarus joins from Barclays Capital where he worked on the real money FX sales desk.

Celoxica Hires Saucier

Diane Saucier has joined ultra-low latency market data, order entry and pre-trade risk services provider, Celoxica, as head of business development in the US, based in Chicago.

Saucier has spent more than 20 years in the financial industry, including 10 years at Trading Technologies where she helped the firm to grow its futures, options and derivatives markets, as well as driving new relationships with exchanges.

She is a founding board member and vice president of WILD (Women in Listed Derivatives), an organisation which promotes the advancement of women in the derivatives industry and also serves on the board of directors and as treasurer of the Information Technology division of the Futures Industry Association (FIA).

Shanahan Joins Omgeo

Jeannie Shanahan has joined post-trade technology firm, Omgeo, as managing director of governance, risk management and compliance in Boston.

In the new role, Shanahan will focus on developing and implementing risk-based compliance programmes to support Omgeo’s provision of operational and counterparty risk-reducing services, while also promoting regulatory compliance. She will report to Marianne Brown, president and chief executive of the firm.

Shanahan most recently served as a credit risk director with State Street Global Advisors, where she developed and executed global credit risk programmes. Before this she held senior management positions at Fidelity Investments and Bank of Boston.

Brown says, “We welcome Jeannie to our team at a critical time in the evolution of the markets, as regulation increasingly affects risk management and compliance. Her leadership and experience in this area will be integral to Omgeo’s ongoing commitment to providing the highest levels of service availability and information security to our clients while maintaining a comprehensive legal and regulatory compliance infrastructure.”

Kleber Joins Dion

Achim Kleber has joined Dion Global Solutions as business development manager in the firm’s European sales team.

Kleber was most recently at Oracle where he was a sales executive responsible for integrated risk and finance applications in the German banking market. He has more than 12 years’ experience in the market, having held business development and sales roles at Metastorm, SunGard and Odyssey Financial Technologies.

Tradable Hires Ex-Skype Developer

Janno Teelem has joined open trading platform, Tradable, as chief product officer.
Teelem headed product development teams for Apple-related Skype products and was one the original software developers of Skype. He has held product development roles in the UK, Estonia, Austria, the US and Austria.

In the new role he will focus on evolving the tradable platform while building and executing the offering’s business plan, adding value and working on new functionality for users.

Jannick Malling, CEO of Tradable, says, “This is a major hire for us – Janno was one of the first guys at Skype and has an impressive career history in software development for international markets. He really is one of a handful of people that has proven they can build truly world-class user experiences.
