Nilsson Joins Lloyds

Anders Nilsson has joined Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking in London as head of corporate FX sales, Profit & Loss understands.

Sources familiar with the matter say that the appointment was announced internally last week and that he will report to Matt Lawrence, head of financial markets corporate sales at the bank.

Nilsson was head of UK corporate FX sales at Citi, a role he left in January this year after 15 years with the US institution (Squawkbox, January 28, 2013)

StanChart Hires Two in Asia

Standard Chartered Bank has made two key hires in Singapore.

Petter Sternby has joined as head, South East Asia financial institutions strategic coverage, based in Singapore.

In the new role Sternby reports to James Pearson, global head of FX strategic coverage, and is responsible for deepening relationships with the bank’s strategic FX clients in the region, as well as providing investment banking services and coverage to StanChart’s Asian financial institution clients.

Sternby was most recently at Nomura where he headed the Asia FIG team, before this he was head of Nordic investment banking at Lehman Brothers in London and served at Morgan Stanley for 12 years before that.

Elsewhere, Alvaro Patron has joined Standard Chartered as head, global corporate sales, Financial Markets, in Singapore.

He reports to Christian Wait, global head of sales, financial markets, and will be responsible for delivering the bank’s financial markets services to global corporate clients.

Patron was most recently at Citi where he served as Asia head of corporate derivatives structuring and consultative sales.

Little Hire at Eurobase

Ian Little has joined Eurobase International as group financial director, based in London.

He was most recently at Access Technology Group where he served as finance director since 2000. Before this he held roles at KPMG, Ernst and Young, and Deloitte.

Rule Financial Hires Principle Consultant

Rule Financial has hired Neil Hookway as a principle consultant for its domain group.
Joining the London office and reporting to Jim Warburton, head of the domain group, Hookway will focus on expanding the firms’ portfolio of client-facing projects, particularly in the regulatory space.

He has more than 21 years’ experience in consultancy roles and in-house role at a number of investment banks across fixed income, treasury and functioning products. He was most recently at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), where he worked for more than three years as global head of their money markets and portfolio investment management IT investment programme.

Before this, he held positions at Man Group, Lehman Brothers, City Practitioners, Lloyds Bank, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse, amongst others.

DTCC Hires Regional Head of Asia

The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has appointed Peter Tierney as regional head of Asia, DTCC Deriv/Serv.

Tierney will be based in Singapore, and serve as head of business operations in Asia and will report to Stewart Macbeth, CEO of DTCC Deriv/Serv.

Before this Tierney has held senior roles across the US, UK and in Asia at NYSE Euronext, BT Radianz and was a founding executive of Omgeo, DTCC’s joint venture with Thomson Reuters.
