Largey to Leave CLS to Pursue Other Interests

Marianne Largey has left CLS where she is a relationship manager in the Americas to pursue interests outside the industry.

Largey joined the settlement system provider in New York earlier this year (Squawkbox, 8 April) from BT Radianz, where she was the global business development manager for FX. Prior to joining BT Radianz, she held senior sales and relationship management roles at EBS, Citi, eSpeed and Cognotec.

Currenex Hires Two

State Street is hiring for its Currenex business, market sources tell Squawkbox. Jessie Bruno is said to be joining from Thomson Reuters to work in e-commerce hedge fund sales, and Sean Cleary is moving across to work in e-commerce from BNP Paribas, the sources say. State Street declines to comment.

In a separate move, Squawkbox understands that Cary Rosenwald, the head of strategy at State Street’s e-Exchange business, is leaving to join Komodo Capital in a similar role.

Chase and McGrath join BAML

Bank of America Merrill Lynch has hired John Chase as head of Europe, Middle East and Africa corporate derivative sales and Dominic McGrath for UK corporates and infrastructure sales, both based in London. 

The two join from BNP Paribas in London where Chase was head of European corporate derivatives and FX. McGrath worked in Chase’s team.

At BAML, McGrath will report to Chase, who in turn will report to Christoph Gugelmann, head of the bank’s EMEA market solutions group.

NFA Hires Piracci to Oversee Swap Dealers

The National Futures Association (NFA) has hired Jamila Piracci as vice president of OTC derivatives, a new position created to oversee the regulation of swap dealers (SD) and major swap participants (MSP). Piracci joins NFA from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s proposed rules delegate NFA the responsibility of processing applications for registrations as SDs and MSPs. After registration and membership is granted, NFA will need to conduct examinations and monitor the new members for compliance with the full range of CFTC regulations.

Piracci has also worked at Mayer Brown as an associate and the International Swaps Derivatives Association where she served as assistant general counsel.

Benfield Replaces Weinstein as Head of BGC Market Data

Interdealer broker BGC Partners has appointed Mark Benfield as executive managing director and director of BGC Market Data, based in the company’s Asia Pacific region.

Benfield will have global responsibility for BGC Market Data and will report to Shaun Lynn, President of BGC Partners. He is taking over from Bernie Weinstein, who will continue to oversee Kleos, BGC’s technology infrastructure and system operations hosting service, and will also be responsible for the company’s intellectual property business. ??Benfield joins BGC from Icap where he was regional managing director for Icap Information Services in the Asia Pacific region.

TwoFour Adds to Consulting Sales Team

Foreign exchange software company TwoFour has appointed Dave Hardy as a regional sales manager for its TwoFour Consulting business, based in New York.

Hardy brings to TwoFour Consulting more than 20 years of experience in sales and business development for the financial consulting and software solutions industry. He joins from Misys, where he held a variety of positions during a long career there, including regional sales manager for banking in the Americas. Prior to Misys, he was a solution consultant for BIS Software.

StanChart Appoints for Greater China and Japan

Standard Chartered has appointed Darcy Lai as regional head of origination and client coverage for Greater China and Japan, wholesale banking. Based in Hong Kong, Lai reports to Sean Wallace, group head of origination and client coverage.

Lai has over 20 years of experience covering capital markets, investment banking and financial markets. He was most recently Barclays Capital’s head of investment banking and debt capital markets, Asia Pacific.
