New Rouble Head for RBS

The Royal Bank of Scotland has raided Moscow for its new head of rouble trading in London. Anton Pasechnikov is joining in that role from Credit Suisse, Moscow where he was head of securities trading and instrumental in building the bank’s rouble trading business. Pasechnikov will report to Peter Rading, head of global currency options and emerging markets for RBS.

The addition of Pasechnikov to the currency team follows an announcement in January by RBS and Renaissance Capital that they have entered a joint venture to provide currency, interest rate and credit derivatives to their government, corporate and institutional clients in Russia.

Rading says Pasechnikov’s expertise and reputation in the market will help solidify RBS and Renaissance’s position in the rouble derivatives market and in the Russian market.
