Market commentary provider MMS International appoints a team of specialists to launch Credit and Derivatives Insight. Led by Frank Claus, European product manager, the team comprises of Kathleen Hoffelder, Mark Hunwick, Kim Petersen, and Terry Wilby, and is competing beta testing of the new product, due to be launched towards the end of June, the company says. With the exception of Hoffelder, who is based in New York, the team is located in London and has 19 contributors globally, with MMS promising further appointments in the coming months.
“The CDS market continues to exhibit significant growth, yet remains characterised by opaqueness,” says Mickey Arora, president and CEO of MMS. “At the same time, liquidity in secondary corporate bond markets remains thin whilst activity in primary markets is more dependent than ever on global events. This is an exciting opportunity for MMS to provide market participants with a better understanding of the dynamics, colour and interaction of the credit derivatives markets.”
Claus joined MMS in late 2000 from Dexia Capital Markets where he was a senior fixed income strategist. He has also worked as a senior auditor at the Belgian Ministry of Finance. Wilby also joined in 2000 as a swaps analyst and subsequently a managing analyst – credit and derivatives flow. Petersen’s career has included positions with Danske Bank, Banque Francaise de Commerce Exterieur, Privatbanken/Unibank and Bank of America. Prior to joining MMS, Hunwick managed the first credit derivatives desk at Commerzbank Securities in London. Hoffelder worked as a senior reporter at IFR.
