MFA Elects Cooper as Chairman

Adam Cooper, senior managing director and general counsel of Citadel Investment Group, has been elected chairman of the Managed Funds Association, succeeding Samuel Weiser, founder of Foxdale Management. Cooper was elected to the MFA’s board in September, having served as an appointed director since November 2000, and was promoted to chairman after a unanimous election.

A number of new officers and members were elected to the executive committee. Mark Mitchell, vice chairman of John W Henry, has become vice chairman; Arthur Bell, managing partner of Arthur F Bell, Jr & Associates, has become treasurer; Jeffrey Izenman, co-CEO of BRI Partners and executive vice president of Rabar Market Research, has become secretary. Robert Aaron, chairman and CEO of Derivatives Portfolio Management, and Scott Bernstein, general counsel, Caxton Associates, have been elected as director to serve with the officers on the executive committee.
