Merrill Brings Asian Offering Together

Merrill Lynch has formed a Pacific Rim debt & equity strategic solutions group (SSG), which brings together its foreign exchange, local currencies, equity-linked, rates, credit and hybrid product expertise. According to the bank its intention is to provide asset and liability products to a spectrum of investors including retail clients, third party distribution outlets, public institutions, corporates and financial institutions.

The group, which brings together debt SSG, global equity-linked product marketing and corporate equity derivative marketing, is divided geographically. In Japan, the new SSG will be headed by Miwa Ohmori, who will continue to report to Masakazu Murayama, vice chairman of Japan debt markets, and additionally to Jiro Seguchi, head of Japan capital markets and financing, for issuer-related derivatives transactions.

Samir Atassi takes the helm for the second group, which covers Asia Pacific. Atassi will continue to report to Antony Hung, head of Asia Pacific debt markets, and additionally to Angus Macpherson head of Asia capital markets and financing and Kevin Skelton, country head and chairman of investment banking, Merrill Lynch Australia, for issuer-related derivative transactions.
