Barclays Capital has appointed Simon Hayes as director within the bank’s London-based UK economics team. Hayes joined on October 10 and reports to David Hillier, chief UK economist.
Hayes was previously with Bank of America, where he most recently managed the UK economic assessment team and was also responsible for advising the monetary policy committee on near-term prospects and forecasts for UK growth and inflation.
“We are delighted to welcome Simon on board. His strong macroeconomic skills will further enhance the quality of our economics research, and his time at the bank will give us an even better insight into how the Monetary Policy Committee views economic developments,” says Hillier.
