Harsha Bhat is set to leave his role as senior vice president and CTO of GlobalLink at State Street.
In this role he was responsible for overseeing the technology underpinning the Currenex, FX Connect, Fund Connect and Trade Services, managing an engineering department of over 150 people.
A spokesperson for State Street confirms Bhat is scheduled to depart the firm and says that a search for his replacement will begin shortly. One market source tells Profit & Loss that he is leaving to pursue other interests but his next destination is not known at this point in time.
Bhat joined Currenex in 2000, working there in a number of different technology-focused roles. He remained with the platform after State Street acquired it in 2007 and then in 2013 Bhat had his role expanded to include other business lines owned by the bank.
Prior to joining State Street, Bhat had spells at Synopsys, Everest Design Automation and Silicon Graphics. He began his career in 1991, working at Ansoft Corporation for three years.
