Michael Ng has joined Kenetic as a senior trader, responsible for building out the firm’s OTC trading and markets business, as well as risk management solutions for cryptoassets.
Kenetic is a blockchain firm that seeks to expand the development and adoption of blockchain platforms through investments, advisory services, community and technology.
Based in Hong Kong, Ng joins from Natixis, where he spent over two years working as a director in the e-FX trading business and the global markets digital initiatives.
In that role, Ng was responsible for pricing, risk management, yield optimisation and continued development of Natixis’ APAC e-FX business and for market making in G10 and Asia deliverable spot FX on a voice basis. As a member of the Asia digital team, he was also responsible for digitisation of global markets workflow through developing bots, real-time analytics, process reengineering and regional fintech relationships.
Prior to joining Natixis, Ng spent three years as head of e-FX trading at Bank of China (Hong Kong), where he developed and managed the first e-FX product for corporate and institutional clients by a Chinese bank, led the electronification of the firm’s cash FX business and re-engineered and led the firm’s CNH futures market making business on HKEX, SGX and CME.
Before that, Ng worked in e-FX sales at EBS.
