Charles Ellis has been named as head of the analytics and robotics centre at Mediolanum Irish Operations.
In this role, Ellis will be responsible for leading the data analytics, data warehousing and business analysis functions at Mediolanum in Ireland. The focus of the role will be the utilisation of analytics to provide innovative ways to help Mediolanum leverage data to help strategic and operational decisions and to drive process excellence across business functions.
Prior to this, Ellis – who can be seen here in a video interview with Profit & Loss talking about using data to generate alpha signals – had been a trader and quantitative strategist at Mediolanum since 2016.
Prior to that, he spent over three years as the head of global macro research at Eagle Alpha, worked as a senior manager and trader at Tower Trading Dublin and spent over seven years as a senior derivatives trader at Geneva Trading.
Ellis began his career in financial services as a commercial banking lender at AIB in Dublin in 2003.
