Edgewater Markets is building its
team in both London and New York with a number of well-known FX names.
In the firm’s New York headquarters,
Seth Garrett and Edward McGowan join the team. Garrett has a long history on
both the banking and buy sides, having worked for CRT Capital, and before that,
Standard Bank, Societe Generale, Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs. McGowan was
most recently at Spectra, formerly Louis Capital FX, and before that UBS,
Julius Baer and AIG.
At Edgwater, Garrett and McGowan will be directors, working to expand Edgewater’s FX business. They report to Skovran Schreder and
Alex Scarsini, co-founders and presidents of Edgewater Markets.
Meanwhile, in London, Carly
McWilliams, formerly an FX trader at Citi, and Simon Maeda, previously an FX
trader at Calyon, join as directors, reporting to Serge Sarramegna in London. They will primarily be
working in sales and distribution. McWilliams recently won
her claim against Citi for unfair dismissal.
The additional hires continue a
build up at Edgewater, which also has recently recruited market veterans Billy
Marsden and former RBS trader Julian Munson.
In March, Edgewater, which provides FX pricing engines and aggregation tools, received a $30 million growth equity minority investment.
