Joe Conlan has joined San Juan Mercantile Bank & Trust (SJMBT) as managing director, sales, based in New York.

SJMBT is a registered bank that supports the trading and settlement of digital assets, enabling peer-to-peer trading in cryptocurrencies with a real-time or escrow settlement functionality.

Prior to joining SJMBT, Conlan had a brief stint as director of sales at Currency Mountain, the holding company that owns and operates a number of firms that operate within the financial services sector, such as the FXDD, Forexware, TraderMade and Nukkleus Capital.

Before that, Conlan spent over 10 years at INTL FCStone as the firm’s global head of FX sales and over a year as the global co-head of e-FX trading at AM Rosenthal.

Between 1995 and 2006 Conlan also held FX sales roles at Currenex, Integral, CME Group, Cognotec and EBS.
