CME and Reuters Start Beta Testing Today

Beta testing of CME FX on Reuters is due to start today, on schedule for the planned Q1 launch, says Bryan Hunter, director FX products at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). The seven clearing firms participating in the testing phase and initial launch are: ABN Amro, Bank of America, Barclays Capital, HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), and Societe Generale Group members Societe Generale and Fimat International Banque SA.

The new venture was announced in May and will offer CME’s eFX futures markets to Reuters’ customer base in a spot equivalent format via the latter’s Dealing 3000 desktop product. The service will initially be available in the UK and US, before being rolled out to additional markets in Europe, Asia and North America.
