Andres Cifuentes has joined BitGo, which offers custody solutions for digital assets, as executive director, institutional sales.
Prior to this he was most recently at Cboe FX, having joined in an FX sales role in 2016 when the platform was still called Hotspot and was owned by BATS Global Markets, which was acquired by Cboe in 2017.
Before that, Cifuentes spent over six years at Morgan Stanley, during which time he worked in both the FX sales and FX prime brokerage teams at the bank.
He also worked in prime brokerage for four years at JP Morgan after beginning his financial services career as an analyst at Goldman Sachs.
Cifuentes is not the first senior figure from the FX world that BitGo has hired this year — Profit & Loss reported in March that Nick Carmi had joined the firm as head of financial services from Tower Research Capital, where he had been the global head of the FICC business.
