Roddy Boulton will assume the role of European head of e-commerce for all products at Barclays Capital in December, the bank confirms. He will report to Amy Nauiokas, who joined the bank in June as head of e-commerce globally, based in New York.
Boulton joined BarCap in London on the global FX sales team with responsibility for European institutional clients in October 2002, before becoming head of European FX institutional sales. He was formerly general manager for Europe at Currenex, prior to which he worked at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was an FX sales manager in New York.
As a result of Boulton’s promotion, George Athanasopoulos will join the bank on November 8 as head of institutional and European corporate FX in London, the spokesperson says. Athanasopoulos joins will report jointly to Mark Kibblewhite, London-based head of the investment banking division, UK debt capital markets and European risk management, and Guglielmo Sartori di Borgoricco, London-based head European distribution for all products.
Athanasopoulos joins from Merrill Lynch in London, where he was most recently head of FX investor sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa, a role in which he led the FX sales build out in Europe, according to BarCap.
