BNY Mellon Investment Management has launched BNY Mellon Investor Solutions, an SEC-registered investment adviser that offers portfolio management and investment advisory services for investors worldwide seeking outsourced investment management.
The new business will offer asset allocation and portfolio construction advice, manager research and selection, investment analytics, customised investment strategies and access to trust and custody services. At portfolio level it will offer modelling, multi-asset and multi-manager strategies, as well as overlay and alternative programmes.
With $11 billion currently in global assets under management, in addition to $110.8 billion in assets under advisement across the firm, BNY Mellon Investor Solutions builds upon BNY Mellon’s nearly 50 years of experience as an outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO), and as the fourth-largest institutional asset manager, helping to provide institutions with asset allocation, manager selection and account servicing.
The new group combines an open-architecture approach with the proprietary investment capabilities of BNY Mellon’s eight specialist investment firms, alongside the full spectrum of advisory services from BNY Mellon Wealth Management, and the custodial and servicing capabilities from BNY Mellon Asset Servicing. The collective expertise drawn from across BNY Mellon provides investment advisory, discretionary portfolio management, analytical and infrastructure services to support client operating and governance requirements, principally to Endowments & Foundations, Retirement Plans, Family Offices, Private Wealth, and intermediary RIAs, one of the fastest growing channels for OCIO services.
The new division will be led by Jamie Lewin, former head of product strategy and performance management for BNY Mellon Investment Management – he will report to Catherine Keating, a member of BNY Mellon’s Executive Committee and CEO of BNY Mellon Wealth Management.
“BNY Mellon is a trusted steward for our global clients, serving as an investment manager, wealth manager, and asset servicer with the unique ability to help investors achieve their goals from every perspective,” says Todd Gibbons, CEO of BNY Mellon. “BNY Mellon Investor Solutions brings together the full power of our collective enterprise to meet the ever-evolving needs of investors by providing an integrated investment offering—needs that have only been amplified in the current environment.”
Mitchell Harris, CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management, adds, “The launch of BNY Mellon Investor Solutions expands upon our commitment to offer clients the ‘best of both worlds’ – specialist investment expertise combined with the strength of an investment partner with broad capabilities at scale. Whether that takes the form of whole portfolio solutions, customised mandates, or specialist insights for better-informed investment outcomes, investors will now have a single resource to help navigate an increasingly complex investment landscape.”
