BNP Paribas has hired Alistair Mullen as new head of European frequent user rates sales within the Institutional Coverage Group (ICG). Commencing his new job on August 22, London-based Mullen will report directly into Stefano Paschetto, head of ICG Europe.
Mullen comes from ABN Amro, London, where he most recently was head of global interest rates distribution and global head of hedge fund distribution for rates, credit and FX products.
Prior to joining ABN in 2001, Mullen spent seven years at Barclays Capital, where he initially worked in hedge fund sales and later, for his final three years, was head of North Asian fixed income sales in Hong Kong.
Commenting on the hire, Paschetto says: “We are delighted to welcome Alistair, who brings a wealth of experience to BNP Paribas. His appointment is part of the continuous effort to strengthen our flow rates business in Europe.”
