BEA Systems Launches New E-Commerce Servers

BEA Systems, the e-commerce transactions company, announced new releases of its BEA WebLogic 5.1 product line, an integrated family of next-generation e-commerce application servers. The WebLogic servers deliver a wide range of e-business environments by using such new e-commerce technologies as WML (Wireless Mark-up Language) and SML for the rapid development of mobile applications and B2B marketplaces.

“The rich support for wireless technologies and XML in the new BEA WebLogic family enables companies to meet the snowballing expectations of the e-generation – the 300 million people on the Internet – by enabling them to conduct e-commerce transactions on the go, anytime, anywhere and by giving e-generation businesses the strong backend integration they need for B2B and supply chain applications,” says Joe Menard, president of the BEA E-Commerce Server division.

The latest release of BEA WebLogic Enterprise Server 5.1 has been seamlessly merged into the WebLogic Enterprise 5.1, combining all of BEA’s Java, Corba and BEA Tuxedo application technologies in a single integrated product.
