Refinitiv has appointed Shirley Barrow as global head of its benchmarks and index business.
Barrow will report to Pradeep Menon, managing director of investing and advisory, as a member of the investing and advisory (I&A) proposition leadership team and will assume responsibility for Refinitiv’s benchmarks and index business, including the WM/Reuters business.
Barrow joined Refinitiv in April 2016, prior to which she was managing director at State Street responsible for the development and growth of the WM/Reuters business. Barrow has 20 years’ experience in financial services, having held several leadership positions at Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank and State Street.
“As investors increasingly look to indices and benchmarks for insights and transparent access to sectors and global markets, I am delighted to appoint Shirley to this pivotal role of global head of benchmarks and index business. Shirley will continue to be an asset to Refinitiv’s investing and advisory team, and I look forward to working with her as the company continues to build on the industry-leading benchmark’s franchise.”
Barrow adds: “I am thrilled to be continuing my work at Refinitiv in this new position. As someone that knows the business well, I look forward to working with Pradeep and the wider I&A team to continue its strategic growth.”
