Barclays Capital, London, has verified the appointments of Gavin Postlethwaite and Farah Musa. (see Squawkbox, August 1, 2005)
Postlethwaite has started two weeks ago and is trading FX forwards. He reports to Jan Smorczewski, head of FX forwards. Prior to joining Barclays, he was with Morgan Stanley in London, as an FX forward and short term interest rate trader.
Also London-based, Musa will start in mid-September, working on e-commerce sales for FX and Money Markets. She will be part of the treasury team, reporting to Mike Bligh, director, treasury risk management. Musa joins Barclays from HSBC in London, where she worked in the e-commerce marketing division.
The bank has also hired Ekkehard Stegner for Institutional FX Sales in non-UK Europe. He joined from Morgan Stanley in London where he was head of German and North European sales. Based in London, he will report to George Athanasopoulos, head of FX sales, Europe.
