John Arabadjis has joined BNY Mellon as head of markets macro strategy product and analytics.
In this newly-created position, Arabadjis is set to spearhead a wide-ranging overhaul of BNY Mellon’s macro strategy products and oversee the firm’s analytics team.
Prior to this, Arabadjis spent 13 years at State Street, where he worked in collaboration with MIT and Harvard University building the firm’s macro research team and creating macro analytic tools for clients. During his time, he explored issues as varied as sustainable investing, machine learning and herding behavior among market participants.
Before he moved into financial services, Arabadjis worked as an astrophysicist. Between 2000 and 2005 he was a research associate at MIT, where he studied the nature of dark matter and the structure of galaxy clusters.
