IRD Clearing Outstrips Mandate: ISDA

New research from the International Swaps and Derivatives Association shows that the incentives offered by regulators to clear standardised interest rate derivatives is having a positive impact with more notional value being cleared than is mandated by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Encouraging the clearing of standardised derivatives has been a major priority for policy-makers and has primarily been pursued through the implementation of clearing mandates. ISDA says, however, that other incentives also exist – netting and capital benefits and the rollout of margining requirements for non-cleared derivatives, for example.

Gill Joins IS Prime

Terry Gill has joined IS Prime’s agency execution team in a newly created institutional sales role. The firm recently announced the addition of NDFs and forwards to meet the demands of its institutional clients.
Gill joins from Edgewater Markets, where he held the post of director, he began his career 10 years ago as a money broker at Tullett Prebon. After Tulletts he moved into a sales role with Rosenthal Collins Group (RCG) before helping to launch Edgewater in 2013, following the business’ decision to break from RCG.

CMC Markets Partners with Tradefeedr, Adds Alexa Capabilities

Online broker CMC Markets has partnered with Tradefeedr, a data science platform built for financial markets, to deploy cloud based machine learning to improve trading analytics and intelligence around liquidity management.
The firm says that the additional capabilities provide for the ingestion, cleansing and store of massive amounts of market and transactional data; high performance computing infrastructure for inspecting, intersecting and querying massive data sets, including data visualisation tools and APIs for extracting the results of analysis for further analysis.
