Fukui Becomes BoJ Governor

Toshihiko Fukui has become the new governor of the Bank of Japan. He was a senior deputy governor of the bank between 1994 and 1997 when he resigned and has since been chairman of the Economic Research Centre, Fujitsu Research Institute. He replaces Masaru Hayami, whose term in office, which began in 1998, is complete.

Caderas Trades CSFB for Julius Baer

Remo Caderas has joined Bank Julius Baer’s New York desk as first vice president responsible for FX forwards and short term interest rate derivatives, the bank confirms. He reports to Thomas Maurer, first vice president, who is based at the bank’s Swiss head office. He previously spent 10 years at Credit Suisse First Boston.

Changes at Goldman Sachs

Daniel Swasbrook has reportedly left Deutsche Bank, London and joined Goldman Sachs in London to cover UK funds. Separately, Richard Dykstra is said to have left Goldman, where he was in hedge fund sales, reporting to Mike Burton, head of foreign exchange sales in London. The moves could not be confirmed by press time.

Nielsen Joins ANZ from JP Morgan

ANZ Investment Bank has appointed Tom Nielsen as senior manager, European institutional FX sales.
