Bloomberg Adds FX Options Functionality

Bloomberg last week launched the latest enhancement to its FxGo multi-bank trading platform, adding foreign exchange options trading functionality to the offering. The new service, which has been in development since the beginning of the year and in a pilot testing stage with a number of clients since April, allows market participants to simultaneously request and consolidate pricing from multiple providers for their chosen currency option, using request-for-quote functionality. The FX options trading tool can be accessed by customers through the FxGo platform without any additional costs, the company says.  The offering is aimed at real money accounts, corporations and hedge funds. Bloomberg is launching with multi-leg structures of vanilla puts and calls, risk reversals, straddles and strangles, as well as a basic suite of exotic options, such as knock-outs, knock-ins, and some binary options.
